Opalite is a relatively new stone that was introduced in China during the 1980s. This beautiful milky blue white material actually isn't a stone at all, but rather glass! Opalite is also known by many other names, including Sea Opal, Opal Quartz, Opal Moonstone and Argenon but again, it is simply man-made glass.
Use this popular material in your next project for a truely beautiful design! All photos have been taken indoors with daylight bulbs, but as always, computer and mobile screens display colors differently.
These smooth round beads measure 10mm in diameter and the center-drilled holes measure about .5mm to 1mm. The strand is approximately 6 1/2" inches long and there are approximately 18 beads on a strand.
